Removing acrylic nail tips can be extremely damaging to the natural nails. Acetone allows for the safe removal of nail enhancements such as acrylic and UV cure acrylic, Naio Soakind UV Gel and nail tips. It is simple, quick and leaves the natural nails in a healthy condition compared with removal by other methods.

Acetone has a number of uses, including the thinning of fibreglass resin, to dissolve unhardened epoxy resins and superglue, to dissolve ABS plastic (including nail tips), as a heavy duty de-greaser, to remove nail varnish, for removing acrylic and false nails, for removing hair extensions, to remove permanent marker from most surfaces, as an electrical de-greaser and in Microscopy staining.

Acetone dries the skin, and it is therefore advisable to use petroleum jelly on the skin surrounding the nails when soaking nail tips off to keep the skin conditioned. It is also advisable to use cuticle oil once the nail tips have been removed for extra nourishment.
