So, for this nail, we're going to do a gel design . We've already built the base up with a sculptured acrylic so we're ready to put our gel straight on top. We're going to do a bit of a block design, so we're going to start off with our cover pink. Place it on and pull it up the nail. Moving onto colours, we're going to place that on the side and because it is self-leveling it will sit next to it. Again, another colour, and just building up the design by sitting colours right next to each other. Make sure you get right down to the sides and then we're going to finish off by adding a bit of glitter. So, that's picking up your clear gel and then into your glitter. Check that you've covered the whole tip of the nail, don't worry about here because we can fill that in when we do a capping layer. And that's ready to go into the lamp, three minutes in the lamp.
 
This nail's now ready to be capped. Because we've used quite a bit of product here we probably won't need to put too much clear gel in that area. It's more about this section and checking that your stress point is there. So, a thin layer of clear gel over the whole nail and then your bulk layer. I mainly put it in that area, let it settle, tip of the brush if you need to move it anywhere, and I just need a little bit more here where my stress point is. Again, let that bit settle, tip of your brush if you want to move it, and that can go back into the lamp for three minutes.

So, I need to take the gel residue off the top there. So again, wipe, turn the wipe over, wipe again. This nail's ready for filing. Shouldn't need too much filing because it is a gel design on top so it should be quite smooth anyway, and gel is a lot softer so there is no need to be to harsh with your file.

We are going to do some hand painting on top of this nail. So we need the area to be nice and smooth. We are going to use our white block to smooth it. Remove your dust. What we are going to do is outline any areas with our black and then highlight them with the white. So, a bit of water into your black. Keeping that brush angle nice and high and that way your lines won't be too thick. Any areas where you've got sharp corners like this one: smooth it round, because it's those areas your going to use as your highlighter. Then into your white paint. It's just little white dots on those thicker areas. Let that dry and then we are ready for a gel top coat.

That needs to go into the lamp for two minutes. To finish this nail off, a little bit of cuticle oil and massage it in and that's the gel design done. [Read less]
